PRDHT LIBRARY

The PRDHT holds a large number of books and documents relating to: management of the Dockyard, training of craftsmen and technical standards, technical references, trade notes, Health & Safety Regulations, etc. These are being catalogued but an indication of the scale and number may be obtained from the current Library List.

An account of the discovery during road repairs undertaken in 1984, of theoriginal caisson to No.2 Basin, (the Steam Basin), in Portsmouth Dockyard. The caisson had been buried in-situ when a new, larger entrance to the basin was constructed in 1876.

In celebration of the International Festival of the Sea held in Portsmouth Dockyard in the summer of 1998, the Historical Trust produced this edition containing 84 pages with 137 B/w photographs with accompanying text. The record of activities is brought up to 1997 and covers Dockyard involvement during the operation for the recovery of the Falkland Islands in 1982.
